Matt will take up the newly created role and join our Leadership Team, spearheading our approach to creating a vision and developing a strategy that will enable us to deliver transformational change to our technology and digital services.

He joins us from Cala Homes Group, where he has held the position of IT Director for the last four years. Matt has broad experience having spent his 20-year career working across multiple sectors including housebuilding, construction, retail, leisure and fashion.

He will take up the role from Wednesday 13 December.

Matt Forrest, Chief Executive Officer at Thirteen, said: “Matt is a very experienced tech leader with a proven track record in developing digital strategy and delivering transformational change across digital and IT. We were really impressed with his energy and enthusiasm for wanting to drive positive innovations and impacts that will benefit our customers and colleagues. We were looking for a candidate who had both the technical ability and a good fit for Team Thirteen, and we found both in Matt – we’re really looking forward to him joining us.”

Matt Cavanagh, Thirteen’s new Chief Information and Technology Officer, added: “It’s a great pleasure to have been given the opportunity to join a brilliant organisation that is doing amazing things. Thirteen’s social purpose and commitment to supporting customers and communities was a big driver in my decision to accept the role. It’s a fantastic role where I know I can really make a difference to the lives of thousands of people on a daily basis. I’m looking forward to learning more about the organisation and meeting my team and colleagues. I can’t wait to get started.”
