Early Help, Redcar and Cleveland

Early Help is a project that supports families in the Redcar and Cleveland area who are facing a range of issues.

This includes low school attendance, anti-social behaviour, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse and teenage pregnancy.

The service works with families to develop support plans and to set goals for positive outcomes.

Early Help services are available Monday to Friday during normal office hours, although staff can work outside these hours if needed. The service helps families to tackle:

  • anti-social behaviour and criminal activity
  • substance and alcohol misuse
  • confidence and emotional resilience issues
  • improving school attendance
  • establishing family routines and positive parenting
  • managing finances
  • taking part in the local community positively
  • promoting healthy lifestyles and diversionary activities
  • family mediation.

Moving on from the project

We agree plans with clients to move-on from the Early Help scheme when they’re close to completing their independence plan. We can also refer people to other services to help them stay independent.

How to apply

People apply to the Early Help scheme through Redcar and Cleveland Council.
