Keeping our customers gas safe: hear from gas engineer Chris Cass
Gas Safety Week is just around the corner and I’ll be working with my colleagues in the gas team to remind customers about the importance of gas safety checks and why it’s a legal requirement that we carry them our every year.
06/09/2021
From Monday 13 September, we’ll be supporting the annual gas safety week, run by Gas Safe Register and we’ll be encouraging all colleagues across the organisation to get on board!
The timely reminder, every year is highlighted throughout this one week, although we constantly work together during the year to ensure that customers don’t miss their appointments.
We’ll be reminding customers how poorly fitted and badly maintained gas appliances or equipment can put them at risk of gas leaks, fires explosions, and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. CO is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly with no warning, as you cannot see it, taste it or smell it.
It’s been a long 18 months since the beginning of the pandemic and one thing myself and my colleagues continue to do, is remind customers that we are still taking the necessary safety precautions to keep everyone safe. It’s important to keep that reassurance there, as we want them to feel confident allowing us into their home. There’s been a great sense of optimism from everyone over the last couple of months.
We want everyone to join us and get behind this campaign – if we all work together, we’ll achieve much more.
