eMpowering Middlesbrough

Members of staff are representing Thirteen today at the launch of Middlesbrough Council’s eMpower social regeneration programme.

11 Mar 2019

The programme is aimed at empowering people in Middlesbrough to be part of plans for the future and to live healthy, happy and secure lives.

Launched at the town hall, the programme has been developed with consultation, assistance and guidance from partnerships in the community. The council is also committing £1.3m to funding community-led projects.

Staff from across Thirteen are attending the launch event for eMpower to talk to partners and members of the public about how we can get involved in the programme’s six key themes of the social regeneration to:

  • increase employment levels
  • increase educational attainment (including skills and vocational)
  • improve health and wellbeing
  • improve the physical environment
  • improve community life
  • improve perceptions and raising aspirations.

The event is giving staff the chance to talk to attendees and make connections with other people and groups and reflect on how Thirteen could work together with others or further grow the work we already do.

Staff from the neighbourhoods teams are also attending a series of eMpower launch events in communities across Middlesbrough throughout the week. Feel free to go along and get involved at:
