Keeping customers Gas Safe

The Thirteen Group is encouraging customers to stay gas safe by running its first Gas Safe Week from today.

15 Aug 2016

Every Thirteen customer must have a gas safety check carried out on their home every year.

During this week (15 to 19 August) staff at the company are encouraging customers to keep their gas check appointments with our engineers to make sure their homes remain gas safe. The checks are carried out free of charge and appointment letters for the checks are automatically sent to customers once a year.

Russell Thompson, Group Director of Property Services at Thirteen said that it’s a legal requirement for every one of the Group’s 32,000 homes to have an up-to-date check.

Russell continued: “Ensuring that appliances such as gas fires and boilers are serviced and working correctly is absolutely essential.

“Properly functioning equipment means that customers and their families can be protected from the potentially damaging effects of faulty appliances which can produce harmful carbon monoxide gas.

“Gas appliances that have regular checks are also more efficient, which means that customers may save money from their fuel bills.”

Gas safe checks don’t take long to carry out but customers sometimes miss their appointment – this means that faulty appliances may not be identified and could potentially be dangerous.

Any customer who hasn’t had their annual gas safe check carried out and has an outstanding appointment, should contact us at:
