Neighbourhood Watch – tell us your views

Thirteen and Middlesbrough Council are working with the national Neighbourhood Watch network to consider how we can support community action, help connect people in the community with each other, and improve safety in the area.

To help with this, we want your opinions about Neighbourhood Watch, what can be developed in the area and where we might be able to improve people’s experience of Neighbourhood Watch to enhance the community

People living in Neighbourhood Watch areas are less fearful of crime, more likely to believe that crime has gone down and are less likely to become a victim of crime.

Neighbourhood Watch schemes are always better when communities have a say in how they’re run, so people in Gresham are being asked to complete a short survey to help the partnership understand what residents think.

Over the next few weeks, colleagues will be going into the community to speak directly to people living in Gresham. If you live in the area, you can also get involved by completing the survey.

Once we have the results of the survey, we’ll be considering the levels of interest and the next steps in developing a Neighbourhood Watch scheme for Gresham.
