New website to get Hartlepool active

Residents are being encouraged to access a new website which includes a wide range of information about sport and leisure venues across the town.

Get Hartlepool Active, which is being launched by Hartlepool Borough Council’s Sport and Recreation Service, also includes information about swimming, volunteering and events.

The website – found at www.gethartlepoolactive.co.uk – includes five main categories: Venues; Activities; Swimming; Get Involved and Events.The new site also includes information about weddings; coach, leader and volunteer development and work with schools and clubs.

The website has been designed to be very easy for people to find their way around and will be regularly updated. 

Louise Wallace, Director of Public Health at Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “The new website includes a whole host of information about physical and sporting activities for children and families in the town, as well as those seeking better health.

“As a town, Hartlepool faces some big health challenges but we are confident that the new website can have a big impact on people’s lifestyles by encouraging them to become active on a regular basis.

“If people think there are other things which should be added to the website, we would very much welcome their views – they can get in touch via the ‘Contact Us’ section on the home page.”
