Some of our work involves visiting supported schemes for women and homes where a female customer has previously experienced domestic abuse. There are times when a customer may feel more comfortable with a female trade professional, or when cultural or religious considerations mean a female colleague is preferred.
That's why it's important that our repairs service is inclusive. We know this can make a real difference for our customers.
Women are underrepresented in the trades. We're committed to creating opportunities, removing barriers and supporting more women to build successful careers in skilled trades.
We offer a range of benefits to women joining our trades team, including:
- Predictable working hours
- Secure employment and a reliable income
- Pension contribution and paid annual leave
- A local operating area
- A supplied vehicle, power tools, specialist equipment and gender-specific PPE
- Training and recognised career development
- Supportive managers and colleagues
- Support and mentoring from experienced female trades colleagues and apprentices
- Meaningful work improving customers’ homes.
We're proud to create opportunities for more women to build careers in the trades.
