A major £3.3million investment programme is underway to improve hundreds of homes in Middlesbrough.
We've appointed Esh Construction to carry out the work as part of its Capital Delivery Framework, delivering a programme of window and door replacements to homes across the Saltersgill estate.
The project covers a total of 463 homes and is being delivered in phases. Phase two has now been completed, with window replacements carried out to 164 properties, helping to improve the appearance, comfort and energy efficiency of customers' homes.
Phase three has recently started on site and will see improvements delivered to 442 properties. The work includes the replacement of windows and external doors, helping to improve home security, energy efficiency and the overall condition of properties across the estate.
The investment is designed to ensure customers continue to live in safe, warm and comfortable homes, while enhancing the appearance and condition of properties.
Thirteen's investment area manager Rubie Dixon-Lee said: "We're committed to investing in our homes and communities so our customers can live in homes that are safe, secure and comfortable.
"The new windows and doors will make a real difference for hundreds of households in Saltersgill, helping to keep homes warmer, more secure and more energy efficient.
"It's great to see the second phase of work completed and the next stage now underway."
Andrew Harrow, operations director at Esh Construction, said: “Delivering high-quality improvements that make a positive difference for residents is central to our approach, and we're proud to be working alongside Thirteen on this programme. The completion of phase two marks another important milestone in helping to improve existing homes and support Thirteen's commitment to providing safe, comfortable and sustainable places to live."
The project is expected to be completed by March 2027 and forms part of our wider £63million investment programme, which is improving thousands of homes across the North East and Yorkshire this year.
