The new colleagues include joiners, plumbers, multi-trades, plasterers and tilers. They'll form a dedicated Empty Homes Demand Team - focusing on repairing and preparing empty homes. This will help us reduce the time it takes to make properties available for people who need them.
Zoe Lambert, head of empty homes at Thirteen, said: “We carry out more than 168,000 repairs to customers' homes every year. Alongside our day-to-day repairs service, we also deliver major improvements to older properties and undertake significant refurbishment work to empty homes to meet the standard our customers deserve.
“The Empty Homes Demand Team builds upon the success of the Repairs Demand Team introduced in 2024. By bringing together a skilled in-house team focused solely on preparing empty homes, we're applying a model that has already delivered positive results for our repairs service.
“Every day a property stands empty is a missed opportunity to provide a home for someone who needs one. This new team will help us reduce turnaround times, increase efficiency and make more homes available to customers sooner.
