Gleneagles Solar Panels Project Team

16 May 2025

We've worked in partnership with GEC Power Ltd to install solar panels to over 20 bungalows at Gleneagles Court in Saltersgill – helping to boost energy performance and reduce carbon emissions.

The installations were made possible thanks to ECO4 UK funding, a government initiative, that provides funding for energy efficiency improvements for UK households.

The bungalows had previously benefitted from airsource heat pumps, so by adding solar panels, residents are expected to save on their energy bills even further, while making the homes greener and more sustainable in the long term.

Thirteen’s head of environmental sustainability Peter Cunningham said: “Projects like this are a key part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact. Not only do they cut the carbon footprint of our homes, but they support our customers to live more comfortably in homes that are warm, energy efficient and more affordable to run.

“We’re proud to be making upgrades that will make a real difference to our customers, and we are already planning a range of further projects over the next few years as we look to make our existing homes more energy efficient.”

Head of Operations Lisa Hodges at GEC Power said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Thirteen on this important project. At GEC Power, we’re committed to delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions that have a lasting impact.

“By integrating solar panels alongside existing air source heat pumps, we’re helping residents at Gleneagles Court take a big step toward energy independence and lower energy costs. It’s a great example of how sustainable technologies can work together to create warmer, greener homes.”

This work is part of Thirteen’s wider strategy to improve the energy efficiency of its homes, with a goal to bring every property up to at least Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C by 2030.
