Thirteen will carry out £36million of internal and external improvements on its homes over the next year.

Over 2,500 homes will receive improvement work this year. The plans include replacing over 1,300 kitchens and around 350 bathrooms.

More than 600 homes will receive new windows and doors and over 400 roof improvements will be completed, to enhance the appearance of homes and ensure they are wind and watertight.

Around 650 new boilers will be installed over the year, helping to make homes more energy efficient.

Executive director of assets Paul Jenkins said: “We’re committed to investing in our customers’ homes and over the next five years, we’ll be investing over £230million across almost 25,000 homes within 15 local authority areas.”

In this year’s plan, Thirteen will invest £3million in its first two retrofit projects, making homes more energy efficient, in line with government targets of being carbon neutral by 2050.

Paul continued: “We’ve listened to our involved customers to find out what matters to them  when it comes to investing in their homes. We’ve pledged our ongoing commitment to building safety and we’re also carrying out some significant investment within a number of our care and support schemes and communal areas.

“The investment will make a real difference to our customers, enhancing the appearance of their homes and the area they live. This reaffirms our commitment to investing in homes and ensuring we meet future housing needs.”

The work will be completed by Thirteen’s investment team and specialist contractors. The type of work carried out and when, depends on a number of things like the age and condition of the property’s fittings, such as kitchens and bathrooms, heating systems and wiring.

Customers who are benefitting from the investment work, will receive a letter to tell them about the plans.
