Thirteen Group has welcomed the first residents to its much-needed, affordable housing development in Yarm.

Yarm Affordable Housing

19 Dec 2016

The Thirteen Group has partnered with Taylor Wimpey to develop a number of properties on the Morley Carr site in Yarm, providing a mixture of two and three-bedroom affordable rent and shared ownership homes.

The first residents, Shirley Wilson, along with her daughter Tabitha, and partner Alan, have recently moved in to their new home.

Shirley, who works with her partner in a soft drinks factory in Leeming Bar, moved from an unsuitable and unhealthy privately rented house elsewhere in Yarm. Shirley’s 14-year-old daughter, Tabitha attends nearby Egglescliffe School.

Shirley said: “We’re over the moon with our new home. It’s a lovely neighbourhood and meets our needs perfectly. We lived close by and watched the houses going up and now we’re happily settled and living in one.

“The team at Thirteen was really supportive and made the whole process straightforward.”

“Our old house was damp and cold but the Morley Carr property is cosy and dry; we’re so glad to have moved in before winter properly sets in!"

Ian Wardle, chief executive of the Thirteen Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Shirley and her family to Morley Carr, where we hope they will be very happy.

“Morley Carr is in an ideal location, close to Yarm High Street and within easy reach of excellent schools, and is perfectly suited to families and people of all ages. We are proud to be a part of this exceptional development.”

Thirteen Group has a wide range of affordable properties available across the region.
