The newest team members Cameron Hawes and Sam Featherstone are three months into their apprenticeship and are making good progress, where they’re studying towards a BTEC qualification and NVQ level 3 in construction and the built environment at Newcastle Rail Academy.

Earlier this year project co-ordinator Claire Atkinson celebrated as she graduated from Teesside University, after spending past two years combining studying and work to complete the HNC (Higher National Certificate) in building studies. Now, following in Claire’s footsteps, project co-ordinator Keri Devine and trainee project co-ordinator Amy Trundley are working towards the same qualification.

CDM support Thomas Readman is also keeping his skills up to date, while studying NEBOSH (National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety) with online course provider ACT Associates and architectural technician James Bishop is currently well on the way to completing a masters in advanced home futures at Teesside University.

Design and delivery manager Keith Moulder said: “As I’ve marked a milestone of my own recently, after celebrating 40 years’ service, it’s fantastic to watch team members making positive steps in their career.

“The team are all very supportive of each other, whether that’s with their academic work or while they’re working on projects to benefit our customers.

“These opportunities are allowing them all to develop their own skills and experience in the industry, increasing their knowledge with theory and practical work. They have all got a really bright future ahead of them.”
