Together with staff from Stockton Borough Council, Accent Housing and Esh, Thirteen's neighbourhood co-ordinators, caretakers and grounds maintenance staff spent the day blitzing the area.

Neighbourhood co-ordinator, Lydia Hodgson said: “Customers have been telling us that keeping their neighbourhood clean and tidy was one of their priorities, so we decided to spend a day out and about with caretakers and grounds maintenance staff to improve the estate.

“We’ve also been knocking on doors and talking to customers to encourage them to tidy their gardens in time for spring and the area’s looking a lot better now.”

As well as cleaning up the communal grounds, colleagues have also been weeding, grass-cutting, getting rid of flytipping and graffiti, and repairing damaged brickwork on the estate.

To further help the local community, Lydia and John Ord, who also covers Tilery, are basing themselves in the Frank Wiseman Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays to encourage customers to drop-in for a chat. Customers are welcome to go along from 10am till 2pm to talk about anything to do with their home, tenancy or neighbourhood.
