Head of building support services at Thirteen, Dawn Smithson will bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the role. With over 13 years’ experience working in housing and estate services, currently managing around 90 colleagues in Thirteen’s facilities management team, Dawn is committed to delivering high quality standards and providing an exceptional customer experience.

The HouseMark Specialist Clubs provide a platform for housing professionals from across the UK to join a network that lets them access best practice on a range of topics for club members, allowing them to explore new ideas, learn from expert speakers as well as their peers, and give them the opportunity to discuss strategic and operational service delivery, innovation and improvement.

With around 60 members, Dawn is hoping to grow the club membership further. Dawn said: “Estate services play a vital role in creating great places where customers are proud to live.

“The value that our estates colleagues bring, from cleaners, estates caretakers, building support colleagues and grounds maintenance is something that we really appreciate and is one that faces many challenges. “I’m looking forward to the future of the estate services club.

We can all learn so much from each other, share aspirations and expertise which will ultimately benefit our customers.”

Elaine Middleton, HouseMark’s deputy director of customer and marketing added: “We’re delighted to welcome Dawn to our Specialist Club manager line-up for 2021. The importance of home has been highlighted by the pandemic and creating places where your customers want to live is incredibly important. The depth of experience and passion Dawn brings to the role will help our Club members to innovate, collaborate and explore best practice across the sector for the benefit of their communities.”
