Port Clarence tidy up

The start of a range of activity over the next few months in Port Clarence got underway with a good spring clean at the end of May.

Thirteen is working with a range of partners to enter the Clarences into the 2019 Northumbria in Bloom competition which will involve planting new wild flower meadows, tubs, hanging baskets and creating interesting sculptures.

There will also be some exciting new artwork installed on some of the area’s bus stops and buildings.

The residents’ group organised the spring clean in the run-up to entering Northumbria in Bloom. round 86 people – including children, parents, young people, and grandmas and grandads – got involved in the family event.

Thirteen, Stockton Borough Council and the Billingham Environmental Link Programme (BELP) supported the tidy up of the estate which picked up five truckfulls of litter.

Lunch was also on the menu and plans for the bus-stop artwork were revealed.
