Around 30 homes in Evenwood, Bishop Auckland have benefitted from the work carried out by Thirteen, in partnership with Esh Construction.

The upgrade included new windows, roof improvements, render, fencing, walls, gates, internal doors, with some homes receiving new boilers and kitchens.

Thirteen’s Andrew Towler who project managed the work said: “The investment work has made such a difference to these homes and brings many benefits.

“The external improvements not only enhance and modernise the appearance of the estate, but it will ensure the homes are wind and watertight and make them feel much warmer too.”

Colin Ford, construction director at Esh Construction, said: “We're pleased to hand over another completed refurbishment scheme delivered in partnership with Thirteen. This project was delivered in the midst of the pandemic and I’d like to thank the team for managing the additional challenges faced, as well as residents for their patience and understanding.”

This year’s investment sees over 2,400 properties across 45 estates receive improvement work.
