Working in partnership with Esh Property Services, the communal areas at Leighton Road in Grangetown are being brightened and refreshed with new décor and flooring.

Leighton Road offers accommodation for young people in Redcar and Cleveland aged 16 and 17 years old, who are homeless and need extra support.

Thirteen’s project managers and designers from the investment team held a consultation event, where they took along choices of paint colours, options for flooring and designs to allow staff and residents to give their views.

Project manager Stuart Poulter said: “Before we carry out any investment work we always talk to the people who are using that service. From these events we can then go away and work with our designers and external contractors to complete the work.

“Investing in peoples’ homes is really important, whether it’s a home people live in for many years or supported housing schemes like this, which is a temporary home for many young people and a work place for our staff.

“Maintaining the standards of our properties is a priority, making sure people have a place to live which is modern, comfortable and somewhere they can call home.”
