Temporary closure of our Stockton store

As part of our role in the community and helping us all stay safe, our stringent procedures for dealing with COVID-19 have made us aware that a customer who visited our Stockton store on Monday 28 September tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday 5 October. We wish the customer well and hope they make a speedy recovery.

6 Oct 2020

As a precautionary measure, the store is closed until Thursday 8 October and is being deep cleaned.

The customer was in store for a 30-minute, socially distanced appointment with a member of our employability service and that colleague is now self-isolating as a precaution.

We’re making courtesy calls to other customers that were in store at the time of the appointment to make them aware. Any customers that had pre-arranged appointments today or tomorrow are being called so that we can re-arrange these as soon as possible.

We understand that this is a difficult time for people across the region and have been closely following government advice. Since the store opened in August, we’ve been making sure it operates as safely as possible and there are a raft of measures in place to protect customers and colleagues including:

  • Monitoring the number of people entering the store
  • The wearing face coverings in line with government guidance for shops
  • Anti-bac stations at the entrance
  • A clearly marked queuing system outside the store, with social distancing markers
  • Directional signage in-store with two metre social distancing in place at all times
  • Separate entry and exit points, with a one-way system inside
  • Having a full-time cleaner on site to keep all areas clean
  • Meetings with members of the organisation’s employability team by appointment only

We look forward to safely welcoming customers again on Thursday and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

If you’d like any further information, give us a call us on 0300 111 1000.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for working with us to keep everyone as safe as we can and urge you to follow the latest government guidance on hands, face and space available at www.gov.uk/coronavirus
