The Leading Lights accreditation, awarded by national charity SafeLives, is a mark of quality for community based domestic abuse services, rewarding good and safe practice.

To achieve the accreditation, the care and support team at Thirteen demonstrated their commitment to providing a great service to people who have experienced domestic abuse.

Despite the challenges of taking part in the accreditation process during covid, the team were praised for their resilience in finding new ways of working and continued commitment to the accreditation.

The accreditation demonstrates Thirteen’s efforts to deliver a great customer experience for all, including those who need this specialist support the most.

On awarding the accreditation, a spokesperson from SafeLives said: “It was clear from the assessment that the team have worked hard during a very difficult year to ensure their service operates in line with the Leading Lights standards.

“Multi-agency working is a real area of strength. The organisation is committed to working with other agencies to promote, support and improve the response locally to victims of domestic abuse.

“We would like to congratulate Thirteen on achieving the Leading Lights accreditation and acknowledge all the hard work and commitment that this represents.”

Kay Glew, director of operations at Thirteen said: “The Leading Lights accreditation is the latest in a series of initiatives that Thirteen has been involved in to improve and adapt our services.

“The accreditation demonstrates our commitment to ensuring we’re able to support those who need it most. The accreditation can be maintained over three years, and we will continue to develop our services and ensure we maintain this high-quality support.”
