Thirteen has taken home the ‘Gas Safety and Compliance Initiative of the Year’ award at the at the Association of Safety and Compliance Professionals (ASCP) annual conference and awards.

We were commended for our work to safely fit gas cookers free of charge to customers, and identify and respond to the early warning signs that a tenant could be at risk of fuel poverty using data captured during their annual gas safety inspections.

Thirteen’s Director of Repairs and Maintenance, Jake Irvine, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the team and one they should be very proud of.

“By identifying fuel poverty at an early stage, we can offer or signpost tenants to the right support to enable them to sustain their tenancy in future.

“Not only will this help improve the customer experience and lead to more tenants staying with us for longer, but also reduce the overall number of void properties which will enable us to invest more money in the future into our properties.”

Members of Thirteen’s repairs and maintenance team attended the national awards ceremony at Telford International Centre on Thursday 23 September collected the award on behalf of the group.

The ASCP Safety & Compliance Awards recognise the achievements of the inspirational individuals and organisations working within social housing and facilities management sectors.
