The investment and maintenance team was named winner in the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) of the Year category for its in-house team who have continued to deliver a customer focused and innovative service.

Over the last couple of years significant improvements have been introduced, including the introduction of a new repairs system to allow more effective scheduling and flexible appointments to fit around the customer.

Initiatives such as a series of self-help videos to support customers with common and easy to fix problems around the home have been published as a result of listening to suggestions from our customers and a new Home move box, to welcome customers into their home, was personalised by the team to suit our customers, with all of the essentials they need to look after their home.

The team’s Trade Plus programme designed to ensure the repairs and maintenance operatives are multi-skilled has gone from strength to strength, alongwith the introduction of a new lead operative role to bridge the gap between management and trade operatives, are also contributing to the customer experience.

Thirteen’s director of investment and maintenance Nik Turner said: “We are incredibly proud to have won this award. “This is great recognition for the team who has worked so hard to shape and transform the service that we deliver for our customers, constantly going above and beyond.”

The UK Housing Awards, organised by Inside Housing and Chartered Institute of Housing, celebrates the achievements of organisations, individuals and projects that are improving the lives of people in their communities.
