Top marks for Thirteen

Staff members at Thirteen are celebrating after the organisation received top marks from the Regulator of Social Housing – after its first assessment by the governing body.

The North East’s largest landlord and developer was subject to an In-Depth Assessment (IDA) by the regulator, which is undertaken every three to four years and assesses a range of compliances and records, including the ability to meet governance requirements, financial obligations and the delivery of value for money.

Thirteen was awarded G1 and V1, the highest grades for governance and viability, respectively, during its first IDA.

The regulator interviewed staff and carried out a full-scale inspection of the social housing provider’s system and procedures, as part of the evaluation process.

George Garlick, Chair of Thirteen, said: “We are committed to upholding the highest standards and the awarding of these grades allows us to progress with delivering the actions of our strategic plan and to continue the growth of Thirteen.”

Ian Wardle, Chief Executive of Thirteen, added: “This is an important milestone for everyone at Thirteen, and is a testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our staff. It is all the more significant as it was our first IDA, which is a fantastic achievement.

“I’d like to thank each and every one of our team for their continued efforts that enable us to provide homes and support for people across our region.”
