£2.2million Middlesbrough investment project gets underway
Work has started on a £2.2million investment project at a Middlesbrough sheltered housing scheme.
2 May 2025
We've appointed North East based regeneration specialist RE:GEN to carry out the work at Bellamy Court in Pallister Park, as part of our Capital Delivery Framework.
The project, which is expected to be complete by the end of the year, will bring a range of essential upgrades, including a heating replacement, security and CCTV, ventilation, communal decoration and flooring, fire doors, emergency lighting and much more.
Customers have been at the heart of the project from the beginning, with a community coffee morning held ahead of the work starting, to hear about the plans, meet the team, share their feedback and select their preferred decoration.
Thirteen’s investment area manager Claire Atkinson said: “We wanted to provide a welcoming and personalised environment as part of this project, so it was important to us to involve our customers and ensure that their voice was heard and valued.
“This is about investing in our customers’ homes for the long term to create a comfortable place where they enjoy and feel proud to live.
“It’s been fantastic to involve our customers in the process and now to see the improvements starting on site.
“Providing homes now, and in the future that suit our customers’ needs is our priority, and accommodation like this at Bellamy Court, with support from a living well coordinator allows our customers to continue to live as independently as possible.”
Jonathan Horner, Managing Director of RE:GEN North East said: "We’re really pleased to be working with Thirteen once again, delivering essential upgrades that make a real difference to homes and the people living in them. It’s been fantastic to be involved right from the start—meeting customers alongside the Thirteen team so they know the friendly faces they can turn to throughout the project.
“It’s what we do best—building relationships—and that’s exactly why we’ve been trusted to work with Thirteen again. We look forward to seeing the difference it makes when the project is complete.”
Bellamy Court, is made up of 47 homes, near to Middlesbrough town centre and provides sheltered accommodation to people aged 60 and over.
The work is part of Thirteen’s £58million investment plans, which is seeing thousands of homes in the North East and Yorkshire benefit from home improvements this year.
