Every Wednesday after school, Millie and her mum go out litter picking in Dyke House to keep the area they live in clean. The Annexe were so impressed with her dedication that they provided her with her own high visibility vest and picker.

Thirteen customer and Millie’s mum, Tia, commented: “Millie had seen adults litter picking in the area when she asked me what they were doing and if she could go out and do it too.”

“She loves being outdoors and wants to make a difference to her local area, often asking us who has dropped rubbish on the floor when we are out walking, so we decided to give it a go.

“We’re really proud of her for wanting to continue litter picking weekly, and Millie was thrilled when Thirteen and The Annexe recognised her efforts and presented her with a certificate and prize.”

Angela Corner, head of community resilience at Thirteen added: “It’s wonderful to see someone as young as Millie taking pride in their area. We hope her hard work encourages others of all ages to keep their area clean and tidy.”
