We all have a part to play in reducing the pressure on our emergency services.

While many people choose to celebrate bonfire night with their families at home, fireworks are incredibly dangerous if they get into the wrong hands. It is much safer to attend an organised display.

Please don’t create your own bonfire. While a fire may seem like an easy way of getting rid of home and garden rubbish, this brings an increased risk of fire to the home. Please ensure you dispose of rubbish and unwanted goods responsibly, it could have devastating consequences to you, your family and your home.

Safety tips

  • Only buy CE marked fireworks from licenced premises
  • Keep fireworks in a closed tin
  • Don’t drink – alcohol and fireworks do not mix
  • Always supervise children around fireworks
  • Never return to a lit firework.
